Cyborg Software Becomes Accero Software

In January of 2008, Vista Equity Partners acquired the Cyborg Software business from Hewitt and Associates in an all-cash transaction. Renamed Accero (think accessible, acceleration, acclaimed) , the Cyborg business is now operating as a standalone enterprise with hundreds of blue-chip customers including many in the Fortune 100.

As a former CEO of a Vista company, I am delighted to be a part of the Vista portfolio again. I am even prouder to be associated with a great product and with employees that have such a fine track record of growth and customer satisfaction.

Cyborg software, now Accero, was founded over 30 years ago. Since that time, we have refined our product into one that competes favorably on a feature-to-feature basis with the most prominent players in the payroll and HR management space. Far from a start-up, Accero serves hundreds of customers in the US, Canada and UK including numerous Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Accero is profitable, cash flow positive, and fully-funded.

Accero is admittedly smaller than ADP, SAP and Oracle and I suppose that we always will be. But if quality, service, stability and experience are more important to you than vendor size, then Accero is the partner for you.

We see no reason why enterprise software implementations should experience run-away costs and endless implementations. Although we offer enterprise-class functionality, scalability and reliability, we don’t believe in the practices that one often sees from enterprise-class software companies: inaccurate cost estimates, poorly-scoped statements of work, and a cavalier approach to customer expectations and requirements.

To the contrary, our growth depends upon turning each customer into a raving fan. Our goal and our mantra is to successfully deploy our product on time, in a short time, the first time at a competitive cost to you.
